Alan Turing and Life’s Enigma
(Manchester Museum, 2012)
Exploring Alan Turing’s work on morphogenesis
This exhibition connected Turing’s work on morphogenesis undertaken on early computers, in the building next door to Manchester Museum with his trial and ‘treatment’ for homosexuality with hormone tablets.
The exhibition included some of Turing’s personal papers relating to his work on the early computers, and natural history specimens to explore morphogenesis. The exhibition was co-curated with Dr. Alice Cliff of the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine.

The exhibition formed part of the programme for the Manchester Pride Fringe Festival, a programme of cultural events around the annual Manchester Pride weekend and parade celebrating LGBTQ lives, diversity and rights.
