University teaching

University teaching
Making the most of museums and collections
I have more than 20 years’ experience of working with academics and developing and delivering university teaching, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, mostly drawing on museum collections and exhibitions. This has also involved developing partnerships with academics to translate research into exhibitions and events in museums.
At Manchester Museum, I oversaw an increase in use from c.30 modules per year to c.180 modules per year between 2005-19. The Museum featured in c.150 publications per year by external researchers.
Knowledge, motivation and skills for sustainable development

In addition to lectures and workshops, I taught on two-week residential field courses/research skills modules for 14 years during 2002–16, in the south of France (Animal Ecology and Behaviour) and the Italian Alps (Alpine Biodiversity and Forest Ecology), with 20-30 undergrads at the end of their second year.
